What are Macros?

Macros, short for macronutrients, are the fats, proteins, and carbohydrates that make up food and help you create energy. Basically the blueprint of what foods are made of.


Protein and carbohydrates both equal 4 calories for each gram, while fat equals 9 calories for each gram.


When looking at nutrition labels scan past the calories and check out what is making up those calories. How many grams of each macronutrient is in the food you are about to eat? Paying attention to those details can play a part in you reaching your goals.
