I have many personal, professional, and fitness goals that I want to accomplish in 2017. My number one goal is to continue to raise children that have a confident attitude about who they are and the body they have. When I discuss my fitness goals with my children I always tell them what I want to accomplish and the daily activities that I will do in order to accomplish my goals. I never discuss weight or my appearance. I discuss time, distance, emotions, and attitude. I teach them to eat healthy and choose food that will fuel their bodies to perform the best. My children watch and hear my actions and words. I choose them carefully when talking about my body and fitness abilities. There were a few moments that I was very aware that what I do and say have been planted in my daughter Madison's head. The first is when she came home with an award for doing the most pushups at school: 150! She also participated in a color run at school and came home and shared that she ran the way I tell my clients to. She was so proud! It was then that I knew that not focusing on my appearance and weight is the best gift I can give to my children, especially my daughter. Two of my 2016 take a ways are teach confidence by being confident and teach self love by loving yourself. When setting health and fitness goals for 2017 keep them positive and focus on challenging your body and mind. In 2017, I am planning on sharing more ways to keep you and your family happy, healthy, and confident! If you want a physical challenge in 2017, come join my boot camp or running classes!
